Glest is an obligatory download for all lovers of strategy games. A completely free game (in English and Spanish), with 3D graphics, it is one of the best. It can also be modified internally using XML and a collection of tools, but you need some minimum knowledge to do this.

Glest takes the basic concepts of classic genre games, like Warcraft, so it's easy to play and manage right from the start. The main features of Glest are outlined below.

To start with Glest is set in Pre-Renaissance Europe. There are two factions in the game, Magic and Technology. The player can control any of the two, according to their preferences. The maps are also varied. During the game you have to establish and define units to count on, basic parameters, improvements, clans, sounds, etc. As you can imagine, the Technology faction always uses war and mechanical objects in combat, while the Magic forces prefer fantastical creatures and wizards to gain victory.
