To start with Glest is set in Pre-Renaissance Europe. There are two factions in the game, Magic and Technology. The player can control any of the two, according to their preferences. The maps are also varied. During the game you have to establish and define units to count on, basic parameters, improvements, clans, sounds, etc. As you can imagine, the Technology faction always uses war and mechanical objects in combat, while the Magic forces prefer fantastical creatures and wizards to gain victory.
